Formation
Initial and on-going formation
The Franciscan Sisters of St. Anna (FSSA) congregation has a formation committee which comprise of a councilor in charge and a team of formators . These formators are in-charge of various stages for the holistic formation in religious life. The stages include; Aspirancy, Postulancy, Canonical Novitiate, Apostolic Novitiate, Junior professed, (those who have taken their simple vows) and the Perpetually professed (Those who have taken their solemn vows).
The formation team work towards the spiritual growth of the sisters as required by the FSSA guidelines and constitutions. During Aspirancy, Postulancy and Novitiate, the formees deepen their discernment to religious life through prayer and understanding of the the rules of life they are to embrace. Through this, they grow to fully accept their call in the congregation.
The stage for the Junior professed requires the religious sisters who have taken their simple vows to continue responding to Gods call as they continue to understand what the Church and Congregation expects of them.
The final stage for the Perpetually professed, is a stage for those who have taken their solemn vows and are espoused to Christ forever. The religious sisters give themselves totally to Christ and promise to live obedience, Chastity and poverty.
Through out the period of initial and ongoing formation, the formation team organizes for the sisters workshops, motivational talks, recollections, retreats, sabbaticals, Spiritual direction and all other related spiritual activities to help the sisters grow strong in their faith, discern more about their life and call to religious life.
