Health Ministry
Health Care Services
Besides girl child education and social ministry that the Franciscan Sisters of St. Anna (FSSA) were involved with when they arrived in Lwak, they also began offering health care services. in a small dispensary which they found already erected.
Many young women were not keen during their delivery period hence the sisters saw the need of beginning a maternity section in the dispensary to help these women have safe delivery. These young mothers were school drop-out girls who had post- natal complications e.g. severe bleeding or placenta retention.
The number of patients increased and within a short time the dispensary was small and needed extension. With time as the congregation continued expanding and communities being opened in different places, health care ministry has been a concern. Therefore the FSSA carry on this ministry to date where they provide all medical services to the people.
