Lwak Girls Boarding Primary Celebrates Education Day

Lwak Girls Boarding primary School celebrated this year’s education day on 15th March 2019. The occasion was attended by principals and head-teachers from various schools within the county, parents, religious nuns, representatives from the ministry of education, the teaching and the non-teaching staffs, pupils, invited guests and stakeholders of the school.
This annual celebration was marked by a procession led by the scouts who welcomed the guest of honor—- from the school gate to the arena. This was followed by the inspection of a guard of honor and opening prayer. During the event, the pupils presented a number of items for entertainment which included poems, songs, scouts drills and Scottish dance.
In her speech, Mrs. Josephine Odundo the head teacher, applauded the stakeholders for their continued support to the school. She encouraged the parents to work hand in hand with the teachers in monitoring the academic progress of their children. She also urged them to be positive in school fees payment to enable for the smooth running of the school. She called on the pupils to be respectful, to listen to their teachers and to always seek help without fear. She further stressed that no hard work goes unrewarded and therefore encouraged the pupils to use their time well.
Speaking about 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results, Mrs. Odundo who was anticipating retirement in the course of the year after working in the school for –years, commented on the positive improvement of the school mentioning that two of the candidates were called to national schools this year. She encouraged the teachers to deal accordingly with the necessary measures to continue improving the girls’ performances.
From the various speeches made by the invited guests, the speakers called upon the pupils to work hard towards achieving their desired dreams. They encouraged the pupils to participate in co-curriculum activities to enhance their talents. Emphasis was put on the need to have a balanced program for the children to grow academically, spiritually, socially and morally.
